A family vacation is the best time to bond with the whole family, get away from your daily work, relax and just have a good time with the family. However, once your baby turns into a teen, there might be some slight changes that will happen around the family. Teens are the ages where young people would just like to be with their friends, different activities, likes and dislikes. This just simply means that they are not the babies you used to carry; they have already grown up. So, a vacation with your teens might need a little difference to make sure that you will all enjoy your vacation.
The best vacation destination with your teens is to a luxury beach resort and vacation club. This is because these places offer great accommodation and amenities to help you and the whole family enjoy your stay. It also offers the whole family different activities for all ages to enjoy and have fun with. Luxury beach resorts and vacation clubs offer shops, foods, sports, outdoor activities and night events. Surely, any teen would enjoy all of these for a vacation. Here are three tips on how to enjoy a family vacation with a teen:
- Listen to your teens. They may have some inputs to share that will surely help them enjoy the trip. Teens have the need to be heard and respected. This is an important part for every teen. So, finalize your plans with everybody around, to make sure that everybody’s opinions are heard and weighed in fairly. Also, give everybody their chance to enjoy any activity they wish to do. By doing this, you give everybody the chance to enjoy.
- See if your teens can really enjoy time without her friends. If you think he or she is highly sociable, two weeks away from friends might end up irritating him or her. With this situation, a shorter vacation is advisable to avoid any unhappy moments between any of the family members. Also, set a strict schedule and make sure everybody follows it. If dinner time is set at 7pm, then everybody should be in your room at 7pm; no exemptions. This will avoid any misunderstandings and promote discipline to all.
- And lastly but the most important thing is to enjoy. Have fun; enjoy all that the beach resort offers. Do all activities possible to have fun with everybody. Do activities together and make sure everybody would like to do that too. Take pictures and make a journal to remind everybody in the family how you enjoyed your trip and vacation. Most of all, bond with your family. Vacations are
your best time to talk, laugh and just simply have fun with the most important people in your lives.
Teens may sometimes be difficult to understand; you may have different likes, hobbies, activities and thoughts. But teens are also the most enjoyable persons to be with especially on a vacation. They are so lively, funny and animated. They love fun so they give out fun to others as well.

As a mother of teens I can identify with your advice. I’d also say that on shorter trips we sometimes bring friends along and the teens enjoy it even more. Also having some internet access so they can keep up with the friendship group is a must
